Global Sourcing Manager - Chemical Raw Materials (5-7 yrs)

Job Summary:

The Global Sourcing Lead for Chemicals will be responsible for overseeing and managing the global procurement of chemical raw materials and products. This role requires a understanding of the chemical industry, supplier markets, global sourcing strategies, and cost management. The individual will work closely with various stakeholders, including internal teams, external suppliers, and regional sourcing leads to ensure the availability of high-quality, cost-effective chemical materials that meet the company's needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Global Sourcing Strategy Development:

- Develop and implement global sourcing strategies for chemicals, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational requirements.

- Identify and assess new suppliers, technologies, and markets to ensure the company's supply chain remains competitive and resilient.

- Collaborate with global teams to align regional sourcing strategies with overall corporate goals.

Supplier Management:

- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers of chemicals worldwide.

- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to optimize cost, quality, and supply chain efficiency.

- Conduct regular supplier evaluations and manage supplier performance based on quality, delivery, sustainability, and compliance standards.

Cost Management:

- Develop and manage sourcing budgets and ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.

- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies for continuous cost reductions without compromising on quality.

- Monitor global chemical price trends and market fluctuations, and adjust sourcing strategies as needed.

Risk Management:

- Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to the supply of chemicals, including geopolitical, economic, regulatory, and environmental risks.

- Develop contingency plans to ensure supply chain continuity in the event of disruptions.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

- Work closely with internal teams, including R&D, production, logistics, and finance, to ensure the sourcing of chemicals meets product specifications and production schedules.

- Collaborate with the sustainability and compliance teams to ensure all sourcing decisions adhere to regulatory and environmental standards.

Market Research and Supplier Development:

- Conduct market analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities in the chemical industry.

- Develop and maintain a database of potential suppliers and alternative products to support future sourcing needs.

- Promote sustainable sourcing practices and work toward reducing the environmental impact of the supply chain.

Reporting and Analysis:

- Provide regular reports and analysis of sourcing activities, including cost savings, supplier performance, and market conditions.

- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership to support decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field. A master's degree or MBA is a plus.

Experience:

- Minimum 5 -7 years of experience in global sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within the chemical industry.

- Strong experience in supplier management, contract negotiation, and cost optimization.
