Network Technician

Roles & responsibilities

1. Installation & configuration of network terminal devices, network applications in End Systems.

2. Installation & configuration of End Systems and connectivity to LAN infrastructure for network connection and maintaining necessary database for this purpose, as per time-to time instruction from concerned officials of the company.

3. Registration of Users and/or End System related information in centralised portal.

4. Updating and/or correction of information of users and/or end systems in centralised portal.

5. Generation of Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Half yearly and Annual reports in formats as informed by concerned officials of the Company.

6. Reloading and maintenance of various networking and security softwares; and the latest version of software patches etc. in the End Systems. The required software will be provided by Company.

7. Installation & configuration of computer security software on End Systems.

8. Installation / replacement & configuration of networking devices consisting of Ethernet switches/Routers/multiplexers/LAN extenders etc.

9. Testing and/or maintenance of all types of network cables, including but not limited to punching and crimping of different Categories (CAT) of Ethernet cables on Information Outlet (I/O) or RJ-45 connectors.).

10. Installation and/or repair and/or replacement of OFC/CAT patch cords, lan cables, patch panel, cable manager, rack fans, UPS, PDUs, etc. as directed by the Company.

11. Fault finding of OFC using OTDR

12. Installation & configuration of networking servers.

13. User and/or End System support for connectivity to network and various online services.

14. Monitoring & Reporting:

a. Regular monitoring of network events, logs, traffic etc., immediately report any issue observed and take necessary action whenever required in consultation with Companys officials.

b. Regular monitoring of network Trojans, worms, virus, etc., immediately report any issue observed and take necessary action whenever required in consultation with Companys officials.

c. Continuous monitoring of the networks & services and prompt reporting of issues observed to concerned officials of the company including but not limited to Engineer in charge.

d. Network troubleshooting with detailed documentation, both at user location as well as at network device’s location.

15. Cleaning of Network Components:

a. Cleaning of all network equipment, all racks and all rack-fans twice in a year using vacuum cleaner, blower, cloths and any other suitable method as instructed by Company’s officials.

16. Network related documentation:

a. Maintaining detailed documentation of networked I/O sockets and OFC terminations, for more efficient tracking of physical connections and also aiding in network troubleshooting.

17. Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Virtual Machine environment over Windows or Linux host platforms.

18. Network support specially for Linux / Windows OS in physical and virtualized environment

Preferred candidate profile

ITI in Computer / IT / Electronics / Telecommunication related field or

minimum 1 year Diploma in Computer / IT / Electronics / Telecommunication related

field or CCNA certification
