About the Role :
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Power BI Engineer / Data Platform Lead to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of experience with a strong focus on Power BI, SQL, DAX, and reporting solutions. Additionally, experience with platform management (SuccessFactors, Workday, HR tools) and team leadership will be a key part of this role. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and managing reporting platforms, leading a team of engineers, and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver actionable business insights.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Power BI Report & Dashboard Development : Lead the design, development, and optimization of Power BI reports and dashboards to provide clear and actionable insights to business users.
- Data Modeling & DAX Implementation : Create and maintain efficient data models in Power BI, using DAX for complex calculations and transformations to meet business reporting requirements.
- SQL and Data Integration : Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and aggregate data from multiple sources (e.g., Postgres, SQL databases) for reporting purposes. Oversee the integration of data into the Power BI platform.
- Platform Management & Reporting (HR Tools) : Manage the integration and reporting of data from HR platforms like SuccessFactors, Workday, and other HR tools. Collaborate with HR teams to streamline data collection and reporting processes.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship : Lead a team of 15+ data engineers, analysts, and Power BI developers. Mentor team members, guide them in their professional development, and provide technical expertise.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders : Work closely with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Ensure that the data presented is accurate, timely, and meaningful.
- Process Improvement : Drive the continuous improvement of reporting processes by automating workflows, improving data quality, and enhancing platform performance.
- Cross-functional Communication : Act as the liaison between business units, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure smooth data integration, reporting, and platform management.
- Project Management : Manage and oversee the delivery of reporting and dashboard projects, ensuring they meet business needs, timelines, and quality standards. Provide regular updates to leadership on project status and risks.
- Data Security & Governance : Ensure that best practices for data security, compliance, and governance are followed across all Power BI reports and data management processes.
Required Skills :
- Power BI Expertise : Minimum of 6+ years of hands-on experience in developing Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models. Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query, and creating complex calculations and measures.
- SQL & Database Management : At least 6+ years of experience working with SQL, particularly Postgres, and other relational databases. Proficient in writing optimized SQL queries for data extraction, manipulation, and reporting.
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) : Strong experience in managing security and permissions within Power BI, ensuring secure data access and governance for users.
- Platform Management (HR Tools) : Minimum of 3+ years of experience working with HR tools like SuccessFactors, Workday, or similar platforms. Knowledge of HR data structures, KPIs, and metrics for reporting and analytics.
- Data Engineering : Experience in data engineering concepts such as ETL, data pipelines, and integration with reporting platforms is a plus.
- Team Leadership & Management : Proven ability to lead and manage a team of 15+ engineers and analysts. Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills.
- Cross-functional Collaboration : Ability to work effectively with business stakeholders, data scientists, IT teams, and other cross-functional groups to deliver comprehensive data solutions.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills : Strong ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Education Qualification : B.Tech or equivalent degree in Computer Science or related field
