Management of equipment and hourly personnel in the Molding, Melt and Finishing Departments to manufacture a steady flow of quality products while maintaining a safe and clean environment.
To assign and instruct the workforce in such a way as to maintain a high level of quality production while following all process procedures as explained in the process control manual.
To enforce priorities and procedures as determined by the Plant Manager and Lead Production Supervisor.
To train and review performance of employees on a regular basis.
To monitor operations on a constant basis to assure equipment is in proper working condition, employees are following procedures, and work areas are kept in a clean and safe condition.
To assure all employees understand and abide by all company safety regulations and policies. This includes scheduling employees to attend all assigned safety meetings, promptly investigating accidents and near misses, completing appropriate reports and taking action to eliminate potential causes.
To complete daily production and downtime reports.
To complete daily attendance reports and absentee reports.
To distribute overtime equally within each department.
To enforce all company contract regulations following procedures as written.
To take action on any processes going out of control.
To assign proper coverage when absent from work.
To communicate with employees and fellow supervisors to assure smooth shift transitions and inter-shift teamwork.
To define, in writing, any problems that must be addressed to any service department.
To participate actively in the Quality Improvement Process by conducting scheduled employee involvement and training meetings.
Qualifications (education, experience, skills, personal attributes):
High School Graduate (College Preferred).
Two years experience in Foundry operations.
Must be willing to work extended hours, weekends, or other shifts if required.
Must keep a professional appearance.
Must maintain a good performance and attendance record.
Must be physically and mentally capable of handling exerting and/or stressful situations.
Must be able to conduct and participate in meetings.
