Job Description

Vertex Communication:

In the absence of SPA Coordinator, the SPA Assistant Coordinator should check and revert on mails keeping the SPA coordinator and the Principal in Cc.

Curriculum:

a. Assist the SPA Coordinator in distributing Curriculum, Planner and Equipment received from Cluster/Vertex.

b. Update and maintain reports.

Administration:

To ensure following data to be maintained at the Centre and furnish when asked for. Refer (clause 27)

Academics:

Assist the SPA Coordinator pertaining to academics related points as mentioned below:

a. Curriculum implementation

b. Drafting of circulars

c. Special events

School Policies:

a. Should be familiar with the duties of coaches.

b. To fulfil all contractual obligations.

c. To complete such forms and records as required facilitating the smooth operation of the school or school system.

d. To be in school at a reasonable time prior to beginning and ending of the activity, as per the HR Policy.

e. To adhere to all the current policies and actively implement new polices introduced from time to time.

f. To take handover from coaches who have resigned from the organisation and allocate the job appropriately.

Equipment Provision and Equipment Requisition:

In the absence of SPA Coordinator, the SPA Assistant Coordinator should execute the following duties: -

a. All the requisitions made by the coaches to the stores should be routed through the SPA Coordinator.

b. To Approve/Disapprove requisitions made by the coaches as per the requirement and relevance and the same should be forwarded to the stores with the permission of the principal.

c. To educate, encourage and promote optimum utilization of the available equipment.

d. To pay attention to the cost cutting factor in the sports items and maintain record of requisitions placed.

Special Events (refer to clause no. 13, 17, 18 & 19):

a. Plan, organize, coordinate, be responsible & accountable for events like Annual Sports Day, VIVA, Inter House, Inter School, National Sports Day, etc. as per guidelines of the Vertex/Cluster for all grades.

b. Plan and coordinate for various competitions, tournaments, and camps as per guidelines.

c. To follow-up and coordinate transport requirements and maintain the records for the same

d. Delegate duties to the Coaches for all the events

e. Assist or fill-in for a Coach who is unable to perform his/her duties due to an emergency or illness.

f. Inform all the concerned departments about all the sports events, at least a week in advance.

g. Send circulars in advance for the events such as camps and competitions.

h. Keep records of events/tournaments and submit the feedback of the same to the Vertex.

i. Maintain records of SPA grade wise activities along with the list of students,

j. Assist in Public-Relation events and other Special Events sponsored by the school.

k. Participate and represent the school at the Sports Association Meetings.

Coaches Administration

Professional Development (Refer to clause no. 20)

a. To provide clarity on the job functions of a coach and to the associated SPA staff.

b. To conduct induction and training for coaches joining at the beginning of the Academic Year as well as for mid-term joiners.

c. Handhold new joinee for minimum period of 3 6 months – narrow down the time frame during the initial stage of joining.

d. Recommend participation of coaches in Training Programme/Meetings/Workshops conducted by the respective board /Association/HOD/School/Vertex.

e. Mentor and train SPA staff to take on challenges and additional responsibilities conducive to their professional growth.

B. Proxy Management

a. Proxy coach allocation to be done after determining the absence/unavailability of any coach.

a. Students would be distributed for second activity opted by the student.
