Planning Manager

Primary Responsibility:

The Planning Manager will oversee project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective execution of construction projects. They will collaborate with project teams, stakeholders, and contractors to develop and implement strategies that align with organizational goals and industry standards.

Role:

Key Accountabilities/Activities:

1) Project Planning and Scheduling:

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using tools like Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Define project milestones, critical paths, and deliverables.
• Monitor progress against the project timeline and update schedules as necessary.

2) Resource Allocation and Management:

• Assess and allocate resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, to meet project demands.
• Coordinate with procurement and site teams to ensure timely delivery of resources.

3) Cost and Budget Management:

• Prepare budget estimates and monitor project costs to ensure adherence to financial goals.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or timelines.

4) Risk Management:

• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Implement contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.

5) Collaboration and Communication:

• Liaise with project managers, site engineers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Provide regular progress reports and updates to senior management and clients.

6) Compliance and Standards:

• Ensure all planning activities comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Review and approve project plans and schedules submitted by subcontractors.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Proven experience (515 years) in project planning and scheduling in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, and other planning tools.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, methodologies, and best practices.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Working Conditions:

• Office-based with frequent visits to project sites as per the requirement.
