Principal Engineer - Software Development

What youll be doing...

Verizon is looking for a dynamic and talented individual for managing and developing the SOE platform which will be a single automated cloud platform for multiple technology and product teams. Common Services will be one of the core and integral parts of making sure that all products and services can be enabled with a microservices architecture. Shared services will help enable products and portals across the TPD. This role includes the development of new products and incremental features as well as overall lifecycle management of the existing products and services.

• System Architecture and Design i.e. Simplify existing legacy architecture
• Analyzes market and user research to make data-driven decisions.
• Collaborates with coworkers to brainstorm new software features.
• Pitches software design proposals to executives for approval.
• Writes software requirement specification (SRS) documents.
• Works with the project manager to set and stick to the timeline.
• Manages software developers through the coding process.
• Proficiency in Angular (version 10+) for building modern and dynamic user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Implement server-side logic and build RESTful APIs using Node.js.
• Work with databases (e.g., MongoDB, MySQL, Oracle) for data storage, retrieval, and basic optimization.
• Implementing non-functional requirements - performance, scalability, reliability, extensibility etc.
• Write and execute unit tests and assist in integration testing to ensure software reliability.
• Familiarity with Git and the ability to work with branches, pull requests, and merges.
• Analyzing architecture, relationships between systems and system flows.
• Understanding Cyber Security Product level requirements and converting them into technical requirements
• Working closely with the business team, and other internal IT teams to deliver projects on time.
• Evaluating and recommending new technologies and updating versions of existing ones.
• Designing/Developing reusable framework.

What were looking for...

Youll need to have:

• Bachelors degree and four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in implementing Object Oriented Web Programming and dev experience on Angular, Node JS, Java Rest API, Spring Boot, AWS, Gitlab, Security Scan Tools, DynamoDB, Spring Boot, Oracle PL/SQL Technologies.
• Experience on security scans like Fortify, BlackDuck, 42Crunch etc.
• Experience on developing and managing customer facing apps.
• Experience in AWS and other Cloud technologies.
• Experience on System Design and Architecture.
• Ability to design and implement solutions with ease of use.
• Experience in working with cross-functional teams and projects.
