Key Responsibility Areas

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project accounting records for the CPWD(Engineering) projects,including expenses, revenues, and project cost forecasts.
• Track project-related costs, such as labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor payments.
• Prepare project budgets, cash flows, and financial reports, and compare with actual to identify variances and trends.
• Review and verify invoices for payment processing related to project expenses.
• Ensure accurate accounting for procurement, purchase orders, and payments for the project.
• Ensure that all accounting and financial activities related to the project comply with Indian tax laws, accounting standards, and relevant regulations (GST, TDS, etc.).
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely invoicing and payments.
• Provide regular updates on project budget, cost variance, and financial status to management.
• Coordinate with the corporate finance/accounts team to ensure smooth processing of payments, invoices, and financial transactions for the project.
• Assist in consolidating monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements related to the project.
• Liaise with the corporate team to ensure that project costs align with corporate accounting practices, ensuring consistency across the organization.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend measures to control project expenses within budgetary constraints

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (Graduate or Post Gaduate) in Accounting, Finance, or related field .
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 4 years in a project-based environment (preferably civil/construction projects).
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
• Strong understanding of GST, TDS, and other applicable tax laws in India.
• Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with project cost management, budget tracking, and reporting.
