Job Description
- Admission and discharges of patient.
- Maintains personal hygiene and comforts of the patient.
- Attends the nutritional needs of the patient, prepares diet slip and feeds helpless patients.
- Maintains clean and safe environment for the patients.
- Performs technical tasks e.g., administration of medication, assisting doctors in various medical procedures, recording vital signs, administering tube feeding, giving enema, bowel wash, dressing, stomach wash, eye and ear care, collection and sending of specimens, intake and output chart, pre-and post-operative care, assists in administration of transfusions, newborn care, back care, care of dying etc.
- Observes changes in-patients condition and records, takes necessary action and reports to the concerned authority.
- Implements and maintains ward policies and routines.
- Co-ordinates patient care with various health team members.
- Care of pressure points as needed.
- Hands over and takes over the patient and ward equipment and supply.
- Maintains ward record and reports assigned to her/ him by the Ward in charge.
- Follows doctors’ round, carry out the orders, timely and accurately.
- Imparts health education to the patient and his /her family.
- Accompanies very ill patients sent to other departments.
- Attends clinical teaching as per day-to-day need of the patient.
- Report adverse events (if Any) to the Team Leaders.
- Ensure 100% compliance of KPI
- Demonstration and guidance to the new Nurses.
- Participation in professional activities.
- Assist in physiotherapy, ambulation and rehabilitation.
- Counseling the patients and relatives
