Draughtsman

Job Function: Generate detail design drawings to support the day to day operations

General QHSE duties (Responsibility of all Downhole Products employees):

• Promote and maintain a safe working environment, report any accidents, near misses or safety concerns to their department manager or HSE committee member
• Adhere to all policies, procedures and relevant work instructions/risk assessments
• Promote and maintain good housekeeping standards in all areas
• Use and maintain appropriately all personal protective equipment supplied to employees
• Use all machinery and equipment safely and respectfully, reporting any defects or safety concerns to their department manager or HSE committee member
• Undertake any internal or external training necessary as per their job function and responsibilities, detailed on the Training Record Summary
• All staff have a responsibility to manage risk within their sphere of responsibility. It is a statutory duty to take reasonable care of their own safety and the safety of others who may be affected by acts or omissions

Specific HSE Responsibilities

• Assistance in Risk Assessment generation, review and revision
• Assist with Internal Audits of QHSE procedures / processes
• Assistance in investigation / close out of quality / H & S or Environmental events
• Involvement in QHSE meetings
• Involvement in or chairing of Toolbox Talks
• Correct disposal of waste
• Improvement in recycling
• Provide assistance to Line Manager with identification of training needs within the department

Responsibilities:

• Assist with all aspects of engineering design CAD Modelling and drafting (Solid works).
• Assist in the creation of technical documents
• Assist and support technical projects
• Assist and support product development
• Assist with all Technical tasks and activities
• Assist with deviation / concession requests
• Assist in the management of the PDR (Product Design Request) system
• Create engineering drawings for variations of existing products
• Check engineering drawings for variations of existing products
• Maintain document control in EPDM, Finsys, Hard Copy files & SAP
• Input in Engineering meetings and reports

Additional job requirements:

• Additional hours, as required to meet contract deadlines
• Local / International travel for provision of technical advice / training
• Other duties as requested by your Line Manager
• Complying with all Company Directives
• Authority to stop unsafe acts or processes being conducted by staff, Contractors or visitors

Qualifications / Experience:

• +2 years experience with Solidworks / other designing Softwares
• +3 years experience in a design office
• Mechanical Diploma / ITI Diploma (Draftsmen) with relevant 2-year exp in Industry / Equavalent.
• Strong relationship skills
• Organised and disciplined approach
