Job Description

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) - (to Corporate Office) will be responsible for overseeing the sales activities across multiple branches within the region. The RSM will drive growth in business by identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities, managing branch sales teams, and ensuring pipeline sales operational efficiency in line with company goals. The position demands a deep understanding of the financial and chit fund industry, strong leadership, and the ability to develop strategies that boost membership and investment.



Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales Strategy and Execution:

  • Develop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives.
  • Set sales targets for the regional branches, and work with branch managers to ensure they are met.
  • Oversee and manage the execution of marketing and promotional campaigns to generate new members and increase business volume.

2. Branch Management and Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor branch sales teams across all 7 branches to ensure high levels of performance and motivation.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and training to enhance the team's sales capabilities.

3. Client Acquisition and Relationship Management:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and relationships in the region.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Handle key accounts and provide personalized service to high-value clients.

4. Market Analysis and Reporting:

  • Monitor regional market trends and competitor activities, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Prepare and present regular sales reports to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and market insights.
  • Ensure the branch teams follow up on leads, and maintain a robust pipeline for customer membership acquisition.

5. Compliance and Regulatory Management:

  • Ensure all sales activities comply with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Regularly update teams on any changes in compliance or product offerings, ensuring all required documents and procedures are followed.

6. Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Develop regional sales budgets, track expenses, and ensure that the region operates within financial limits.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and ensure the branch teams are on track to meet their targets.

7. Collaboration and Cross-functional Coordination:

  • Work closely with the marketing, operations, and finance teams to align on company goals and optimize sales processes.

Coordinate with the training department to organize and deliver ongoing training programs for sales staff.

  • Strong understanding of the chit fund industry and financial products.
  • Knowledge of regional market dynamics and consumer behavior in the finance sector.

2. Sales Leadership:

  • Proven track record of successful sales leadership, with the ability to lead and inspire a sales team.
  • Experience in setting sales targets, coaching teams, and driving performance.

3. Client Relationship Management:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-value clients and ensure satisfaction.

4. Communication:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present and negotiate at all levels, both internally and externally.

5. Analytical and Strategic Thinking:

  • Strong analytical skills to assess market data and develop strategies.
  • Ability to think strategically and adjust to changing market conditions.

6. Problem Solving and Decision Making:

  • Proactive problem-solving skills, especially in sales processes or client relationships.
  • Ability to make quick and informed decisions that impact regional sales and operations.

7. Team Building and Motivation:

  • Proven ability to recruit, train, and retain top-tier sales talent.
  • Ability to motivate teams to exceed targets while maintaining high levels of morale.

8. Time Management and Multitasking:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across different branches.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

9. Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in sales management, preferably in the financial services or chit fund industry.
  • Experience managing a regional team or multiple branches is a plus.

10. Technology Proficiency:

  • Familiarity with CRM tools and other sales management software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
