Role & responsibilities

Accounting / Financial Planning and Control

• Establishing, monitoring, and enforcing financial discipline, financial control policies and procedures in consultation with the Top Management.
• Preparing financial budget by establishing schedules; collecting, analysing and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
• Assisting Top Management in ensuring that operations are being managed as per the budgetary limits by identifying and notifying variances.
• Monitoring financial health of VSI, provide accurate information to external / internal auditors.
• Ensuring timely closure of all annual accounting procedures of VSI in coordination with auditors, external advisors.
• Providing expertise and support to the Top Management for financial planning and budgeting aspects of the organic and inorganic growth/ expansion projects
• Review Financial Statements of subsidiary and JV companies. Guide Management where required.

Treasury / Funds Management, Profitability

• Ensure health margins through vigilance over timely payment collections, appropriate fund management and avoiding blockage of financial resources.
• Updating sales teams on pending collections, financial viability and performance of sales deals and suggesting appropriate actions to avoid loss of margins/bad debts.
• Interacting with Purchase / supply chain team to ensure that optimum inventory levels are managed with minimum cost overburden.
• Understanding organizational requirements and arranging/ prioritizing and utilizing Financial resources for fulfilling the same.
• Establishing healthy and cordial relationships with the Bankers, Financial Institutions and obtaining favourable terms for interest costs reduction and other term loans/ project loans.
• Establishing prudent financial control policies and processes to manage operations within the minimum financial resources.
• Reviewing vendor payment, employee compensation policies and revamping those in line with demands of current financial situations from time to time.
• Finalize Capex priorities and make available resources for spent on machinery, software or other infrastructure, technology upgradations that would help us get smooth entry into regulated markets.

Financial Analysis, MIS and Reporting

• Implementing appropriate accounting procedures to record the day to day business transactions for ensuring accuracy of financial decisions.
• Monitoring financial performance of the VSI vis-à-vis business plan commitments, identifying and reporting variances; initiating corrective actions in consultation with the Managing Director.
• Checking VSIs equipment and other assets during quarterly or annual stock taking as per audit requirement for company assets and reporting on asset utilization status.
• Comparing trends, tracking changes and analysing reasons for achieved performance levels.
• Providing status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and accurately reporting financial data.
• Preparing special reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends from time to time as per the needs of management.
• Helping in preparing budgets and product pricing strategy.

Statutory Compliance Management

• Preparing a schedule of statutory compliance {covering various submissions towards RBI, sales tax, income tax, excise, PF, Service tax, ROC, CA and other statutory authorities} and ensuring that the compliances are completed accurately and timely with zero incidences of penalties, fines and defaults.
• Ensuring accurate compliance towards internal and external audits while focusing on completing corrective actions on NCs in time.
• Timely filing of returns.
• Keeping updated with new laws IT, GST, Accounts, Company Act
• Preparing of CMA data & Business module.
• Keeping the Top Management updated on legal and statutory issues and timely resolution of aspects that may have financial implications.
• Facilitating and guiding the finance team on statutory compliances related to RBI and other regulatory authorities.

Team Management

• Building and managing a stable, disciplined and result-oriented team, with successful leadership.
• Participating in the Manpower Planning and Selection process so as to ensure optimum staffing and hire the right fit.
• Allocating tasks or responsibilities to team members as per their skills and setting priorities as per the requirements.
• Identifying the training needs of the team members and fulfilling these through formal training as well as hand-holding, guiding, coaching.
• Setting targets for the team and the team members, monitoring and reviewing performance and taking necessary actions; so as to achieve growth / revenue targets.
• Resolving conflicts, if any.
• Maintaining employee morale by creating safe and efficient working environment.
• Motivating /mentoring/ counselling to achieve desired performance.
• Identifying, rewarding and retaining high performers to create future leaders.

Preferred candidate profile

CA / MBA Finance / M.com with at least 15-20 years of relevant experience.

Sound knowledge of Finance and accounts, banking, costing, budgeting, legal and business understanding.

Working knowledge of ERP
