Position Overview:
The Vice President (VP) of Sales will play a critical role in our growth, leading the sales vertical and directly reporting to the cofounder. This is a strategic position requiring a blend of vision, experience, and a hands-on approach. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, managing, and mentoring the sales team from the ground up, defining sales strategies, and executing plans that align with our company's goals and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Development: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing sales team. Develop a culture of success and ongoing business and goal achievement.
- Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base. Create strategies to tap into new markets and opportunities.
- Sales Process Management: Establish the inbound and outbound sales process, setting clear metrics and goals. Implement sales training and development strategies to maximize team performance.
- Market Analysis & Business Intelligence: Keep abreast of market trends, product developments, and competitor strategies. Adjust strategies and tactics in response to market dynamics and opportunities.
- Collaboration & Alignment: Work closely with marketing, product, and school success teams to ensure alignment across all customer touchpoints. Facilitate feedback loops to inform product development and customer experience strategies.
- Revenue Growth & Forecasting: Responsible for sales forecasting and setting team targets. Manage resource planning and budgeting to achieve growth objectives.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as a key business partner to the cofounder and other executives, providing regular insights and reports on sales performance and strategic opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 15+ years of sales experience with a proven track record in a leadership role, ideally in a startup or high-growth environment. Experience in Enterprise Sales is a plus.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to build, motivate, and lead a sales team to achieve exceptional results. Strong mentorship and coaching skills.
- Strategic Thinking: Proven expertise in crafting and executing successful sales strategies. Ability to think analytically and strategically to navigate complex sales cycles.
- Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment. Ability to pivot strategies in response to market changes and new opportunities.
