Part-Time Legal Compliance and Advisory Consultant

Job Summary: We are seeking a part-time Legal Compliance and Advisory Consultant to oversee and ensure our companys adherence to legal standards and in-house policies. You will be responsible for enforcing regulations in all aspects and levels of business as well as providing guidance on compliance matters. The ideal candidate will have excellent legal acumen and a thorough understanding of corporate law.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement company policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify potential compliance risks.
• Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of issues, including contracts, employment law, and corporate governance.
• Prepare and review legal documents, such as contracts, agreements, and policies.
• Keep abreast of legislative changes and ensure the companys continuous compliance.
• Liaise with external legal bodies and regulators as required.
• Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for staff on legal and compliance matters.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings or hearings as needed.
• Advise management on the potential legal implications of business decisions and strategies.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the state bar association.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate law and compliance (specific years depending on your preference).
• Proven experience as a legal advisor or compliance officer.
• In-depth knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of integrity and professional ethics.
• Ability to work independently and handle confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in IT sector
• Familiarity with India compliance standards
