Azure Cloud Engineer L2/L3

Key Responsibilities:

• Cloud Infrastructure Management:
• Design, deploy, and manage complex Azure-based environments including virtual networks, storage accounts, virtual machines, and more.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, security, and cost efficiency.
• Manage and troubleshoot advanced Azure services like Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, Azure DevOps, Azure Active Directory (AAD), Azure Security Center, and more.
• Incident Management & Escalation:
• Handle escalated support tickets, troubleshooting and resolving complex issues related to Azure infrastructure, performance, networking, and security.
• Perform root cause analysis and provide recommendations for long-term solutions.
• Provide 24/7 support as needed, ensuring that Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.
• Collaboration & Mentoring:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (networking, security, application support) to ensure efficient solutions.
• Mentor and guide L1 and L2 engineers in resolving technical issues.
• Provide best practices and training to junior engineers.
• Cloud Migration & Optimization:
• Lead migration projects from on-premises to Azure, ensuring smooth transitions.
• Proactively identify and recommend improvements to optimize cloud environments for scalability, reliability, and cost savings.
• Automation & Scripting:
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or ARM templates to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Integrate Azure services with CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment processes.
• Security & Compliance:
• Ensure that Azure environments are compliant with company policies and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, etc.).
• Implement and manage security features such as Azure Security Center, Network Security Groups (NSGs), Key Vault, and role-based access control (RBAC).
• Documentation & Reporting:
• Document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and best practices to create knowledge base articles.
• Provide regular reports on system performance, incident trends, and optimization recommendations to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in a technical support or cloud engineering role with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale Azure environments, including complex networking, virtual machines, databases, and security configurations.
• Experience with Azure Active Directory, Virtual Networks, Load Balancers, App Services, and Storage Accounts.
• Experience in cloud migrations, disaster recovery, and performance tuning in Azure.
• Skills & Expertise:
• Advanced knowledge of Azure Services and Azure IaaS/PaaS offerings.
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles and tools in Azure.
• Expertise in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, or ARM templates for automation.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights).
• Experience with troubleshooting and debugging complex Azure networking and security issues.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to think critically and act decisively.
