Deputy Manager/Assistant Manager- Chemical Purchase

Role & responsibilities

For Chemical raw material

1) Ensure regular availability of raw material quantity for the budgeted production at Budgeted price.

2) Reduce purchase cost, freight cost which will add to contribution- Say 1-2% Prepare monthly report

on purchase cost and freight cost and report in PM.

3) Maintain EOQ (economic order qty), Safety stock and no production loss Prepare report every month

and share the production loss if any due to RM shortage.

4) Provide price forecast every month for next 3 months for all the key RMs to BH.

5) Identify alternate suppliers for key RMs without compromise on quality List can be shared by BHs.

6) Maintain the budgeted NoD for all the RMs and report every month in PRM to control working

capital.

7) Support R&D for Supplier audit to set quality specifications and ensure purchase norms are adhered.

8) Adhere to compliance norms (Tax, other regulations) and maintain records.

9) Ensure query for RMs and availability data is shared to Production, R&D on agreed time basis

10) Ensure SOP of the purchase department is followed.

11) Update the system which will help in cost saving, improve quality and enhance our company image.

12) Identifying the import price details of our competitors and forecasting the same to Business team on

monthly basis.

13) Closely working with production and R&D team for identifying the suppliers for the RM required for

new products developed and products in pipeline.

14) Ensuring the supplier audits are done periodically with the help of R&D team.

15) Presenting the inventory analysis report on monthly basis and working to reduce the same by

adopting JIT.

16) Developing system to simplify the purchasing activity and to ensure on time availability of materials

17) Ensure on-time and error-free generation of purchase / service / work orders, agreements, bank

guarantees, and other relevant documentations

18) Communicate and ensure adhere to safety practices by team and vendors

19) Ensure approved MIRCs along with necessary documents are sent to accounts on daily basis for

processing payments

20) Mentor team for performance and productivity

21) Encourage team to participate in SGA and continuous improvement programs

Preferred candidate profile

10 to 15 years from chemical raw material procurement is mandatory
