Head of Vertical Transportation Business (Lifts and Escalators)

Job profile:

The role aims at gaining a full understanding of the Indian Vertical Transportation* (VT) market; promoting TÜV SÜDs local VT profile; generating sales; building relationships with customers and regulators; building up and leading professional teams in strategical locations in different states of India; and delivering the services in accordance with TUV SUDs management guidelines and Quality Management System.

Role & responsibilities

Strategy development

• Familiarize with the customer, competitor, authority, and regulation VT landscape in India
• Provide market input for updating and finetuning of the VT strategy for India Business development and sales
• Elaborate a business development strategy to implement the growth strategy provided by the BU LCC and TUV SUDs South Asia and to meet agreed sales targets
• Promote TUV SUDs as a leading VT authority in India
• Create and identify sales leads through networking; proactive industry observation and research; and effective sales channels
• Effective customer relationship management; understand customers structure, needs and constraints
• Scale the business through continuous extension of customer base and customer retention
• Preparing sales presentations and sales materials in cooperation with the BU LCC and the marketing department
• Coordinate with TUV SUDs global VT experts for joint customer presentations and visits
• Collaboration and coordination with other TUV SUDs subsidiaries (e.g. Hungary, Middle East)
• Monitor upcoming events such as trade fairs, exhibitions and conferences and prepare and coordinate TUV SUDs participation in coordination with the BU and TUV SUDs South Asias senior management Operations and resources
• Ensure smooth and efficient operations in accordance with TUV SUDs QMS and to the full satisfaction of customers
• P&L responsibility for TUV SUDs VT activities in India
• Preparing regular progress reports
• Resources planning and management
• Recruitment, development and leading of further VT experts
• Ensure that the VT experts receive the necessary training for their individual roles and authorization levels and in accordance with their personal development plan
• Authorization management (internal) in accordance with TUV SUDs QMS

• Basic knowledge of lift technology and industry
• Familiarity with inspections and certifications of VT; further training, as required, will be provided by TUV SUD upon joining

Required education

• Bachelor Engineering degree (electrical, mechanical)
• Master degree would be beneficial, in particular a business-oriented one (MBA)
