Cloud Platform Engineer

• Determine the operational characteristics and maintainability of new cloud-native services in accordance with the most recent standards and industry/CSP best practices
• Define and monitor production performance, reliability, scalability, and availability of operational metrics
• Participate in discussion groups, write knowledge segments, and conduct research to aid the team's ongoing improvement
• Continuously strive to make the company's cloud environments more cost-effective and of higher quality
• Continually gain knowledge and impart it to your team and project teams while also executing any other tasks that may be required
• As it relates to every element of the Cloud platform implementation, create and maintain documentation
• Make sure Cloud infrastructures adhere to current standards and collaborate with consuming teams to update as needed
• Create automation for the standardized use by project teams of Cloud environments and architectural design patterns
• Make and keep playbooks and runbooks for operating support of cloud environments
• Take part in troubleshooting sessions, which may involve collaborating with business teams, examining logs and data, submitting service requests to CSPs, coordinating with vendors, partners, and CSP support, and advancing problem resolution
• Examine application architecture designs to ensure that dependable and effective design patterns are used

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor s/Master s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a Cloud Platform Engineer
• Prior experience working on AWS Lambda with Bot3 API
• Demonstrable experience with Python and Terraform
• Extensive experience with AWS Cloud Formation
• Proficient experience writing Python-based API calls to AWS resources
• Nice to have some IaC coding experience
• Prior Configuration Management experience working with Chef, Ansible, Puppet, and SaltStack
• Prolific Cloud Architecture experience working with AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Solid programming/scripting experience with PowerShell, Ruby, Java, and JavaScript
• Proficient knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code technologies like Terraform, CloudFormation, and CDK
• Familiarity with running and scaling distributed software systems like load balancing, high availability, systems monitoring, etc.
• Solid understanding of structured text like JSON, YAML, and XML
• Prolific application production support experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Entusiasm to automate routine tasks
• Solid understanding of networking and network-related structures
• Willingness to be a part of a culture of continuous improvement
• Demonstrable experience with Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems internals and administration
• Ability to multitask and adapt to quickly changing priorities
• Great English communication skills, both verbal and written
