The Senior Industrial Designer :

Role & responsibilities

• works with an interdisciplinary product team of fellow designers, optical, electrical, mechanical and manufacturing teams to take products from concept to production while shaping the experience of users with this new paradigm of mixed reality computing.
• We are looking for candidates who are creative, energetic team players who excel in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

A portfolio comprising of your professional design work is required while applying for this position.

• Designed and developed consumer hardware products launched at scale.
• Worked in an inter-disciplinary environment comprising of product designers, industrial designers, electronics and mechanical engineers to deliver consumer products at scale from concept to production.
• Worked with manufacturing vendors and companies to modify and iterate on designs to ensure manufacturability, scalability, ease-of-assembly and repairability while optimizing costs and time to market.
• Designed, executed, and managed tests to collect statistically significant data to ensure technical specifications and product requirements are met
• Responsible for ensuring that Quality System is followed in all daily activities.
• Actively participated to the design verification process within the team.

Job Specification

• Bachelor s or Master s degree in Industrial design, product design or relevant field.
• 6+ years of experience in Product/Industrial design.
• 5+ years of experience in designing for consumer products that have been launched in the market at scale.
• Advanced 3D surfacing, modelling & rendering skills with strength in Autodesk Fusion 360, Keyshot, SolidWorks or similar software.
• A demonstrated ability to carry out and/or manage user/stakeholder/market research, and an ability to understand, interpret and utilize results to produce great design.
• Experience working within a gated new product development process. Proven product development skills and experience from concept right through to delivery
• Experience in designing dynamic and static systems integrating mechanical and electronic elements.
• Experience collaborating on problems within a multi-disciplinary R&D environment
• A desire to mentor and coach young designers and engineers to develop their skills as new product developers.
• Advanced 3D surfacing, modelling & rendering skills with strength in Autodesk Fusion 360, Keyshot, SolidWorks or similar software.
• A demonstrated ability to carry out and/or manage user/stakeholder/market research, and an ability to understand, interpret and utilize results to produce great design.
