Database Administrator

Role & responsibilities

• Manage and maintain SQL, relational database systems to ensure high availability and performance.
• Design, implement, and optimize database schemas, tables, and indexes.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
• Perform database administration tasks including backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning.
• Monitor database performance and conduct performance tuning for database schema, queries, and indexes.
• Ensure data integrity and security by implementing and managing database access controls.
• Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database solutions that meet business

Preferred candidate profile

• Engg Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong focus on SQL and relational databases.
• In-depth knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
• Strong proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Certification in database administration (e.g., Oracle DBA, Microsoft SQL Server DBA) is a plus.
• Experience in designing and developing high volume web services using API Protocols and Data Formats (REST, JSON, SOAP & XML), Application servers & Messaging middleware (Kafka, JMS/MQ, ActiveMQ, SonicMQ, etc.) & in EAI products from WSO2, TIBCO, IBM, Oracle, MuleSoft, etc. a big plus.
