PYP Coordinator

Position: Primary Years Programme (PYP) Coordinator

• Lead the implementation and ongoing development of the IB PYP curriculum in alignment with the schools mission and vision.
• Ensure adherence to IB standards and practices throughout the programme.
• Develop and update curriculum frameworks, policies, and documentation in line with IB guidelines.
• Foster a collaborative culture among staff to promote interdisciplinary and inquiry-based learning.
• Manage the IB authorization and evaluation process for the PYP, ensuring all standards and requirements are met.
• Oversee the preparation of all documentation, reports, and records required for IB evaluations.
• Act as the main liaison between the school and the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) for authorization and evaluation processes.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops to prepare staff for evaluation visits.
• Plan and deliver professional development sessions for teachers on IB philosophy, assessment, and inquiry-based teaching.
• Observe and mentor teachers to ensure effective teaching practices and curriculum delivery.
• Organize parent orientation sessions and workshops to explain the philosophy, structure, and benefits of the PYP.
• Address parent concerns and provide regular updates about the PYP curriculum and student progress.
• Ensure timely submission of all required documentation to the IBO.
• Maintain accurate records, including unit planners, assessment data, and program evaluation reports.
• Collaborate with school leadership to allocate resources and manage budgets for the PYP.
• Stay informed of updates and changes in IB policies and disseminate them to the school community.
• Represent the school at IB workshops, conferences, and networking events to ensure alignment with global IB standards.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in an IB PYP environment.
• At least 2 years in a leadership or coordination role within an IB-accredited school.
• Proven experience in IB authorization and evaluation processes.
