Tax Advisory Role (9-15 yrs)

Opportunity is with a leading tax advisory firm for Transaction Tax (M & A Tax) (Bengaluru) and Direct Tax (Mumbai/Bengaluru).

Core Responsibilities:

- Leading assignments in advisory, litigation and compliance for domestic and international tax.

- For M & A- Advising Indian / foreign MNCs on Mergers, Demergers, Business Acquisitions, Transaction Structuring, Share Acquisitions, Structuring of Funds & Investment Models for Inbound & Outbound Acquisitions, Corporate Restructuring and Joint Venture Planning.

- Assisting client through each stage of the business lifecycle, helping in thorough quantitative analysis, rigorous end-to-end implementation and leading-edge and sound structuring techniques to enable them to achieve the desired objectives.

- Ideation and conceptualization on tax structuring options for multinational clients. Evaluation of India inbound structuring options.

- Conducting extensive handholding on regulatory compliances for acquisition. Implementation of follow on merger/consolidation at India level.

- Leading tax due diligence work and advising clients in negotiating the terms of transaction and documents based on the findings of tax due diligence.

For Direct tax- Advice on classification, valuation, the applicability of taxes on transactions and admissibility to tax benefits/exemptions.

- Providing innovative but rigorous tax planning ideas (Tax Reviews / Health Checks /Due Diligence Reviews).

- Undertaking comprehensive reviews of business operations to identify tax planning opportunities as well as compliance gaps. Administer all corporate tax processes and compliance, including corporate tax, transfer pricing, financials related certifications, fringe benefit tax, withholding tax etc.

- Lead and coordinate the tax planning and tax management of assignments, with guidance from the Partner and manage risk and compliance issues on client engagements.
