Scrap Collection & Sorting

Job Summary:
The Scrap Handling Technician is responsible for the collection, sorting, storage, and proper disposal or recycling of scrap materials generated during manufacturing or production processes. This role ensures that scrap is managed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Scrap Collection & Sorting:
• Identify and segregate different types of scrap materials (e.g., metals, plastics, paper, etc.).
• Operate tools and machinery to process scrap, such as balers, shredders, or forklifts.
• Maintain a clean and organized scrap storage area.

• Monitoring & Reporting:
• Track scrap generation and disposal activities, documenting weights, types, and destinations.
• Report discrepancies, damages, or hazardous materials encountered.
• Compliance & Safety:
• Follow safety protocols for handling potentially hazardous scrap materials.
• Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and company policies.
• Equipment Maintenance:
• Inspect and maintain scrap handling tools and equipment regularly.
• Notify supervisors of any needed repairs or replacements.
