Simulation Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Responsible for driving the CAE initiative to address the top returns in studded jewellery due to design failure. Responsible for predicting design failure and structural design optimization through simulation approach and validating results with physical prototype. Simulation protocol establishment for design failures in studded designs.

Knowledge

Exposure to Finite Element Analysis

Exposure to working in Simulation (LS-DYNA preferred)

Exposure to Studded Jewellery

CAD Proficiency

FMEA Proficiency

Build expertise in studded jewellery quality standards and audit

A. Understanding of basic quality parameters of studded jewellery products
B. Quality auditor certification
C. Training on WBQ Standards
D. Proto audits for new collections
E. Benchmarking with competitor brands and introducing new attributes in our products

Structural weight optimization exploration through Simulation

A. Design identification for GC maximization from NOOS & Buffer list
B. Exploring for weight optimisation through simulation
C. Application of weight optimisation tool in NOOS designs for GC maximisation
D. Structural stability validation to be done through reliability testing before and after optimising weight
E. Consistency trials and protocol establishment

Establish Proof of Concept for Finger Ring stone fallen design failure prediction through Simulation

A. Identifying top 5 designs with stone fallen complaint due to design failure.
B. Simulation of the top returns design in LS-Dyna and matching the physical failure results
C. Establish consistency in predicting stone fallen in CAD phase through simulation in Finger ring category
D. Validate the simulation results in comparison with physical reliability testing results
E. Establish proof of concept for the FR design failure prediction through simulation
