DGM- Material Management

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement Strategy and Execution

• Devise and implement effective sourcing strategies for high-value equipment, spares, and services.
• Discover and develop profitable suppliers, initiating strong partnerships for the organization.
• Conduct reverse auctions and competitive bidding processes to optimize procurement outcomes.

2. Vendor Negotiation and Management

• Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
• Finalize purchase details, including commercial clauses, delivery timelines, and warranty terms tailored to project requirements.
• Foresee changes in the negotiating ability of suppliers and clients to maintain competitive advantage.

3. Contract Management

• Knowledgeable in service contracting, rate contracting, and risk management for supply agreements.
• Formulate and review commercial, delivery, and warranty clauses to ensure procurement success.
• Examine and test existing contracts and internal budgets prior to negotiations.

4. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Collaborate with internal Project Management, Planning, and SCM teams to align procurement terms with project goals.
• Coordinate with Design teams for technical qualifications, design vetting, and clearing ambiguities.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, and allied departments for accurate and efficient results.

5. Operational Excellence

• Approve orders for necessary goods and services, ensuring compliance with company standards.
• Track key deliveries, notify PM & SCM teams for receipt, and manage QC clearance.
• Monitor and report key procurement metrics to reduce costs and improve functional efficiency.

6. Team Leadership

• Manage and build a high-performing procurement team to achieve project targets effectively.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and long-term savings on procurement costs.

7. Commercial Expertise

• Deep understanding of payment systems, including Credit LC, LC at site, TT payments, and credit payments.
• Collaborate on strategic initiatives to develop standardized formats, including SOTR, commercial compliance, and technical specifications.

8. Risk Management and Cost Control

• Perform risk analysis for procurement contracts and agreements.
• Control spending and drive cost-saving initiatives across projects.
