Job Description

This position will be part of our Trading team in our Chennai office and will involve new business development and managing sales to customer accounts across African, Middle Eastern and Latin American markets.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Researching business opportunities / organizations in AFRICA, MIDDLE EAST and LATAM markets and identifying new sales leads to sell Building Material Products
  • Building new customer base in unexplored markets (AFRICA, MIDDLE EAST and LATAM) by studying business potential and understanding industry trends
  • Frequent international travels pertaining to business development
  • Meeting annual sales targets
  • Regular visits to assigned countries for sales and new business generation
  • Develop knowledge of the product lines, market trends and pricing patterns to make focused offers to customers on a daily basis
  • Build sustainable business relationship with the customers, effectively negotiate and optimize the margins
  • Receivables management for assigned customer accounts including follow up for payments

Key Requirements:

This is a front-end Export Sales and Business Development position and the ideal candidate will have prior work experience in handling export sales within Building Material products.

  • Engineer or Science Degree (preferably with an MBA) with 5 to 7 years Sales experience in Building Material industry (e.g. Steel, Metal, Glass etc.)
  • Good Business Development skills
  • Open to travel international frequently
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and simultaneously manage multiple demands and meet deadlines
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to interface with management at all levels and cultures
  • Go-getter and result oriented with strong drive to make it happen
  • Experience working to and exceeding targets
  • Good Sales Closing skills
  • Good knowledge of data analysis using Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in an additional language (like French)
  • Ability to take initiative and work with limited direction
