Role & responsibilities
Perform modal, global stiffness, mounting stiffness, vibration, FRF and acoustic transfer function analysis during the design and development process to achieve world-class vehicle attribute targets
Perform full vehicle NVH analysis (in-cabin vibration and acoustic predictions)
Preference for cross domain experience of NVH and Durability
Create proof of concept demonstrations for integrated NVH and performance models.
E-Drive and Powertrain vibration and high frequency acoustic analysis: Component and powertrain modal analysis, structure borne and air borne noise analysis
Assessment of powertrain systems in terms of NVH and acoustic criteria is an added advantage
Definition of NVH relevant material properties and models
Providing input in the creation of component specification, component DFMEA, and other technical design documents where analysis plays a pivotal role
Maintain traceable documentation for all durability analysis and test work
Able to create Full vehicle FE model from CAD or from rough sketches
Develop & optimize load bearing structures to meet S&D and NVH requirements
Clarify the issue, Root cause mechanism for failure and propose possible design solutions to the related stakeholders
Responsible for delivery of CAE Technical report
Solve production/design Trade-off issues as cross-functional teams
Ensure On-Time-Delivery (OTD) and First-Time-Right (FTR) for all the CAE deliverables
Develop CAE Methodology for all S&D and NVH Test cases
Develop CAE Material card for MSC Nastran and Altair Optistruct
Conduct CAE correlation with physical test
Conduct continuous improvement of CAE process
Work collaboratively with Design and Test teams in vehicle development
Responsible for weight & cost optimization
Develop and maintain Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R.)
Test and benchmark new analysis tools and techniques
Preferred candidate profile
Excellent understanding of acoustics and vibration principles
Strong experience in full vehicle NVH CAE for LCV or passenger car
Acoustic FEM/BEM analysis experience with Simcenter 3D or MSC Actran is a plus
Exposure to NVH physical testing methods
Strong hands on experience in CAE tools
Should have worked with both metals and plastic structures
Good knowledge in fundamental physics and structural Engineering principles
Experience in Engineering analysis study (Root cause and Design solutions study)
Good Experience in CAE-Physical Test correlation
Extensive and demonstrable experience in the field of NVH at an established OEM
Must have work experience in new vehicle development programs
Must have some knowledge in vehicle performance evaluation target setting
Ability to write automation scripts for CAE tools is an added advantage
Strong Oral and Written communication skills
Good team player and contributor
Able to work effectively within defined deadlines and time constraints.
