Sr Lab Technician - ID,TB & Micro

• Microbiological Testing:
  
• Conduct microbiological tests on patient samples, including blood, urine, sputum, swabs, and other bodily fluids.
• Perform culture techniques, gram stains, microscopy, and biochemical testing to identify pathogens.
• Prepare and maintain microbiological media, reagents, and equipment.
• Interpret and record test results, ensuring precision and accuracy.
• Tuberculosis (TB) Testing:
  
• Perform TB diagnostic tests, including smear microscopy (Ziehl-Neelsen stain), culture techniques (solid and liquid media), and molecular assays (e.g., PCR).
• Participate in the processing and identification of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M. tuberculosis) and assess drug resistance profiles.
• Ensure strict adherence to biosafety protocols when handling TB samples.
• Infectious Disease Diagnostics:
  
• Perform diagnostic tests for a variety of infectious diseases, including but not limited to HIV, Hepatitis, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
• Utilize techniques such as ELISA, PCR, and antigen/antibody detection methods.
• Analyze and interpret test results, ensuring compliance with clinical guidelines and diagnostic protocols.
• Quality Control & Compliance:
  
• Maintain laboratory safety standards, ensuring that all work adheres to health, safety, and quality control standards.
• Participate in internal and external proficiency testing programs to ensure high-quality diagnostic performance.
• Document results accurately, and assist with preparation for audits and inspections.
• Laboratory Equipment & Maintenance:
  
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, including incubators, microscopes, and PCR machines.
• Ensure proper calibration and servicing of equipment, minimizing downtime.
