Job Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO) -Sales/Marketing

Job Summary: The COO will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company, providing strategic leadership and direction to ensure operational efficiency, profitability, and sustainable growth. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in the beverages/FMCG industry, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of operational management.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring optimal efficiency across all departments, including production, supply chain, quality control, and distribution.
- Implement best practices in operational processes to improve productivity and reduce costs.
Strategic Planning:
- Identify opportunities for growth and expansion within existing markets and new territories.
- Develop & implement a comprehensive sales strategy, Joint Business Plans aligned with overall business goals, long range planning and oversee the creation of sales forecasts, budgets, and plans to deliver the growth agenda
P & L Management:
- Deliver targeted P&L and growth for the company by leveraging market opportunities, BTL, portfolio management and right GTM.
- Identify new expansion and growth opportunities and outline GTM strategy to establish strong presence and shares
Financial Oversight:
- Develop and manage the operational budget, ensuring financial targets are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Analyze financial metrics and operational data to drive informed decision-making.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and quality standards, implementing quality control measures throughout the production process.
- Ensure strong commercial health for the sales organization focusing on right indicators and taking corrective decision to improve commercial hygiene.
- Lead initiatives to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
Supply Chain Management:
- Oversee supply chain operations, enhancing procurement processes and relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of raw materials.
- Optimize logistics and distribution strategies for efficiency and reliability.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key distributors and trade partners to draft joint business plans to aid business growth objectives
Risk Management:
- Identify potential operational risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on the business.
- Ensure safety protocols and practices are followed, promoting a safe working environment.
Team Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide mentorship and support to department heads, setting clear performance metrics and expectations.
Key KPI's:
- Achievement of Business Objectives as per Long Range Plan
- Achieving Distribution Targets - (direct & indirect, e.g. numeric and weighted distribution across markets)
- Delivering ROI on overall spends resulting into profitability for the P&L
- Overall productivity of workforce (revenue per person across layers), workforce engagement levels for the sales org
- Overall Commercial Health Scores
Qualifications:
- MBA with specialization in Sales and Marketing
- 18 to 20 years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the beverages or FMCG industry.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, production processes, and quality assurance standards.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
