This job description is for engineers good at backend engineering and Python in particular and would be excited to expand beyond that into other languages, frameworks, and a complete full-stack engineer.

Roles and responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance APIs, microservices, and backend systems.

- Ensure code quality, scalability, and performance through testing, reviews, and optimisation.

- Manage and optimise database systems, including data modelling and querying (SQL/NoSQL).

- Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to define the product roadmap,

with a focus on AI-driven knowledge management features.

- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of systems, ensuring they meet scalability, performance, and reliability requirements.

Technical Skills :

- Proficiency in Python and frameworks such as Django, Flask, FastAPI, etc.

- Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, web sockets, and asynchronous programming.

- Hands-on experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) and caching tools (Redis, Memcached).

- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure and containerisation tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems like Git.

- Knowledge of serverless architectures and message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with AI/ML-based projects or generative AI technologies.

- Knowledge of deploying and scaling AI models in production.

- Contributions to open-source projects or a portfolio showcasing relevant work.

- 3+ years of engineering experience building high-quality software
