Data Quality Engineer - SQL/Python (5-7 yrs)

About the Role :

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Quality Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of data quality principles and a proven track record of managing data issue lifecycles.

You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness of our data, while adhering to relevant regulatory frameworks.

Your expertise in SQL and scripting languages like Python will be crucial in analyzing data discrepancies, automating issue management, and generating insightful reports.

Responsibilities :

Data Quality Management :

- Develop and implement data quality standards, policies, and procedures.

- Monitor and assess data quality dimensions (accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness) across various data sources.

- Identify and analyze data inconsistencies, mismatches, and anomalies to determine their root causes.

- Establish and maintain data quality metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Data Issue Lifecycle Management :

- Manage the end-to-end data issue lifecycle, from identification to resolution.

- Track and document data quality issues, ensuring timely resolution and communication.

- Implement automated issue routing and escalation processes using Python or SQL scripts.

- Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurring data quality issues.

Regulatory Compliance :

- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks, such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA, regarding data quality and privacy.

- Implement data quality controls and safeguards to protect sensitive data.

- Stay up-to-date with evolving data privacy regulations and best practices.

Data Analysis and Reporting :

- Utilize strong SQL skills to analyze data discrepancies and generate insights for issue management.

- Design and develop dashboards and reports to monitor data quality trends, SLA breaches, and resolution timelines.

- Present data quality findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

- Create and maintain data quality documentation.

Automation and Scripting :

- Develop and maintain python or SQL scripts to automate data quality checks, issue routing, and escalation.

- Contribute to the automation of data quality related processes.

Required Skills and Experience :

- Minimum 5+ years of experience in data quality management.

- Strong understanding of data quality dimensions (accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness).

- Proven experience in data issue lifecycle management, from identification to resolution.

- Expert proficiency in SQL for data analysis and manipulation.

- Experience with scripting languages, preferably Python, for automation and data processing.

- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.

- Ability to analyze complex data sets and identify patterns and anomalies.

- Experience in designing and developing data quality dashboards and reports.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
