Responsibilities:
Sourcing & Procurement:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with mills and vendors of raw materials (e.g., cotton, yarn, fabric).
Conduct market research and identify potential new suppliers.
Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to secure the best possible deals.
Issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of raw materials.
Vendor Development:
Identify and evaluate potential new vendors based on quality, reliability, and pricing.
Conduct vendor assessments and maintain vendor performance records.
Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key vendors.
Inventory Management:
Monitor raw materials inventory levels and ensure adequate stock to meet production demands.
Implement inventory control measures to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
Manage the rejection process for defective or substandard materials.
Departmental Coordination:
Coordinate with production, planning, and quality control departments to ensure smooth and efficient material flow.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders on procurement-related issues.
Multi-Location Experience:
Experience in managing procurement activities across multiple locations is preferred.
