Key skills for the job
The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) is looking for a dynamic candidate for the post of Associate Fellow in its transport vertical who has good communication and analytical skills along with an interest in transportation research, including energy and emissions modelling. She/He should be open for traveling on need basis.
The role will involve research on sustainable transportation in India, including decarbonization strategies, policy research, energy losses, energy efficiency, and renewable energy. The role will involve rigorous analytical work combined with interactions with government and private stakeholders to aid policymaking in India. Brief outline of responsibilities:
- Quantitative modelling (estimation, prediction & forecasting) of transport sector-s demand, energy, resource, emissions, and abatement cost
- Literature review of various national and international reports and papers relevant to assigned project requirements
- Organising focus group discussions and workshops of diverse stakeholders to understand transport emission and energy trajectories across the globe
- Keep up to date on the latest trends in the transport sector
- Writing proposals, preparation of concept notes and project reports
- Organising internal and external meetings and support in dissemination events.
Master-s in Economics/Energy Economics/ Environmental Economics/ Statistics/ Econometrics/ Data Science- experience in transport- energy- climate and/or macro-economic modelling
PhD in economics/statistics (thesis submitted)
- Understanding of econometrics and data analysis (quantitative & qualitative)
- Ability to handle and analyse large datasets
- Proficiency in Advanced MS Excel tools/functions- VBA- macros- loops- etc.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
