Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Developer specializing in Ruby on Rails with a strong commitment to web accessibility. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality web applications and a deep understanding of accessibility standards to ensure inclusive user experiences.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails.
- Implement accessible front-end components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Ensure web applications comply with accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1 and ARIA guidelines.
- Conduct regular accessibility audits and address issues to improve usability for all users.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to ensure accessible and responsive designs.
- Optimize web applications for performance, speed, and scalability.
- Mentor team members on best practices for accessibility and coding standards.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in accessibility and web development technologies.
Qualifications :
- 5-8 years of experience in web application development.
- Strong expertise in Ruby on Rails and modern front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Comprehensive knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG, ARIA) and testing tools like Axe, Lighthouse, or WAVE.
- Familiarity with screen readers and other assistive technologies.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Proficiency in version control systems like Git.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
