About the Role :

Colan Infotech is seeking a skilled Ruby on Rails Developer to join our dynamic team in Chennai.

As a Ruby on Rails Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining web applications, integrating with third-party APIs, and optimizing application performance.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain web applications using Ruby on Rails framework.

- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and implement business requirements.

- Integrate with third-party APIs (Acuity Scheduler, Athena APIs, Light Beam, Sendbird, SendGrid) to enhance application functionality.

- Handle API requests, responses, and error handling.

- Ensure API security and performance.

- Design and optimize relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).

- Write efficient SQL queries and stored procedures.

- Ensure data integrity and security.

- Utilize Sidekiq for background job processing to improve application performance and user experience.

- Schedule and manage background jobs efficiently.

- Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.

- Perform code reviews and provide feedback to team members.

- Adhere to coding standards and best practices.

- Deploy applications to production environments.

- Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues.

- Implement security best practices to protect application and data.

Qualifications :

- 4+ years of experience in Ruby on Rails development.

- Strong understanding of Ruby programming language and its core concepts.

- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).

- Knowledge of RESTful API design and development.

- Experience with background job processing tools (Sidekiq).

- Familiarity with testing frameworks.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
