Job Description

The Information Security Risk Monitoring Analyst is responsible for monitoring and analyzing the potential risks and threats to an organizations information security systems and infrastructure
They conduct regular monitoring activities to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses in the organizations systems, and develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks
The analyst works closely with the security team to monitor and respond to security incidents and breaches, and ensures that appropriate measures are in place to protect the organizations sensitive data and information
They also stay updated on the latest industry trends and emerging threats to proactively address potential risks
Overall, the Information Security Risk Monitoring Analyst plays a crucial role in safeguarding the organizations information assets and maintaining a secure environment
You will participate in compliance risk assessments
You will monitor control implementation and execution and escalation to management through the defined escalation path when any issues are identified.
You will maintain the risk register
You will review the evidence related to IT Controls implementation and effectiveness
You will ensure IT Risk controls are evidenced timely by proactively following up with Responsible Teams
You will monitor and report progress on identified risks
You will keep track of new, updated and removed Information Security Policies and Standards and takes appropriate actions of cascading the message as well as definition of done.
You will assist IT Application Owners and other key stakeholders in creating a secure environment by evaluating IT Security needs during the initial stages of the system development process and determining the most appropriate information security controls to implement.

Skills

You should have Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. A masters degree or relevant certifications (such as CISA, CISSP, or CRISC) would be advantageous.
You should have experience in IT risk management, security operations, or a related role.
You should have strong knowledge of IT risk frameworks, standards, and regulatory requirements (such as ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, GDPR, etc).
You should have familiarity with IT governance frameworks (eg, COBIT) and industry best practices.
You should have proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and tools.
You should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex situations and provide practical recommendations.
You should have strong understanding of network and system security principles, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability management.
You should have knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, databases, operating systems, and cloud technologies.
You should have experience in conducting IT audits and working with auditors.
You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
You should be detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Care about keeping abreast of new security threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies, and recommend solutions to improve the organizations overall security posture .

Commit to assisting in identifying risks associated with technology policy, standard, or process exceptions as part of the security exception management process.

Collaborate with other teams and departments within the organization to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
