- Provides leadership and guidance to the bid team / key stakeholders throughout the pursuit lifecycle and is responsible for all aspects of the pursuit process.
- Performs an active role in the definition, communication, and execution of the deal strategy and client engagement plan.
- Has a detailed knowledge of pursuit management techniques, tools, and best practices.
- Contributes to deal qualification activities and leads the bid process from qualification through to proposal submission, proposal clarification, client presentations, due diligence, and negotiations through to contract signature.
- Manages bid schedule, budget, resources, and high-quality deliverables, assesses and addresses the effectiveness of the win strategy, ensures on-going focus on opportunity qualification and the development of a coherent proposition leading to successful deal closure using the Pursuit Support Model (PSM) as a guide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the bid team and key stakeholders. Define, communicate, and execute the deal strategy and client engagement plan. Assess and address the effectiveness of the win strategy.
- Ensure ongoing focus on opportunity qualification and the development of a coherent proposition.
- Pursuit Management: Lead the bid process from qualification through to proposal submission, proposal clarification, client presentations, due diligence, negotiations, and contract signature. Manage bid schedule, budget, resources, and high-quality deliverables. Utilize the Pursuit Support Model (PSM) as a guide to drive successful deal closure.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and synergy. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment. Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
Client Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with clients and understand their needs and priorities.
- Develop compelling value propositions and tailor them to specific client requirements. Effectively communicate and present our capabilities to clients.
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges throughout the pursuit process. Develop contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 15+ years of relevant experience in pursuit management, business development, or a related field. Proven track record of leading complex pursuits and achieving successful outcomes.
- Deep understanding of pursuit management techniques, tools, and best practices. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Proficiency in relevant software tools and technologies.
