Position Title: Solution Architect Data Engineering

Experience Level: 10+ Years

Key Responsibilities:

1. Modern Data Platform Design:

• Collaborate with the data engineering team to design a robust, scalable, and secure data platform.
• Ensure the platform caters to both application and reporting requirements.

1. Technical Data Architecture:

• Lead the design and implementation of a modern data platform architecture.
• Ensure alignment with Azure best practices, leveraging services like Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Azure Data Lake.

1. Cost Optimization:

• Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce costs across Azure services.
• Implement solutions like deduplication and cost-effective data storage mechanisms.

1. Azure Data Lake Consolidation:

• Streamline and consolidate multiple workspaces within Azure Data Lake to improve management, performance, and cost-efficiency.

1. Data Modeling:

• Develop and refine detailed data models (tables and views) to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

1. Data Source Governance:

• Optimize and consolidate data sources to improve governance, management, and data quality.
• Build a strong foundation for future data-driven initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: 10+ years in data engineering, with a proven track record in designing and implementing data platforms in Azure.
• Azure Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Azure Data Lake, and other Azure cloud services.
• Technical Leadership: Strong ability to co-design and guide technical data architecture, working closely with cross-functional teams.
• Cost Optimization Skills: Demonstrated expertise in reducing costs and enhancing performance in large-scale Azure environments.
• Data Modeling: Hands-on experience with detailed data modeling, ensuring data consistency and reliability at all levels.
• Governance & Management: Proficiency in consolidating and managing multiple data sources and workspaces within Azure.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
