Job Description

Join Avalara as a Technical Program Manager, a member of the Partner Management, Global Partner Services team. You will play a pivotal role in assisting technology partners through the technical and functional aspects of their integration builds with various Avalara products and services. Your expertise in Avalara APIs, system integrations, business applications (ERP, eCommerce, CRM, OMS, etc), and process guidance will be key in the certification and recertification of technology partner integrations, ensuring they meet Avalaras evolving standards and requirements. This role requires a background in technology, partner management, partner communication, and is partner-facing.

Job Duties

Key Responsibilities :

Technology Partner Integration Assistance :
- Enable technology partners with integration design and development best practices as they build new Avalara integrations and enhance existing connectors.
- Provide expert guidance on API integration and related processes across multiple Avalara products and services.
- Assist technology partners in understanding and implementing Avalaras integration requirements.
- Act as a technical liaison between technology partners and internal teams for complex integration issues.
Certification and Recertification Facilitation :
- Guide technology partners through Avalaras certification process, ensuring compliance with current standards.
- Support the recertification of existing integrations, helping technology partners align with Avalaras updated criteria.
- Monitor and track the progress of technology partner integrations towards certification and recertification with Avalara.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing :
- Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive documentation related to integration processes and certification criteria for Avalaras products and services.
- Share knowledge and best practices with technology partners to facilitate successful integrations with Avalara.
- Manage and curate technology partner and integration data in Salesforce.
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement :
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams at Avalara to enhance integration and certification processes for technology partners.
- Collect and analyze feedback from technology partners to drive continuous improvements in Avalaras integration support.
- Provide guidance and feedback to Avalara product management and engineering for enhancements and fixes to Avalara products and services including associated APIs.
- Be the Voice of the Partner

What you'll Need to be Successful

Qualifications :

bachelors degree in a related field (Business, Technology, etc).
Experience in technical project management or partner-facing roles, preferably in a technology or SaaS environment.
Strong understanding of APIs and technical integration processes, particularly in relation to Avalaras products and services.
Experience with business applications (ERP, eCommerce, OMS, CRM, etc) including functional and technical skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Skills :

Experience with software certification processes, especially in relation to Avalaras products.
Knowledge of project management tools like Jira and documentation platforms like Confluence.
Familiarity with software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
