Job Description

Overview: The IB MYP Individuals & Societies (I & S) Teacher plays a pivotal role in fostering the intellectual and emotional growth of students within the framework of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. This position is crucial for guiding students in developing a deep understanding of human societies, cultures, geography, history, and economics, while encouraging them to think critically about their world. The teacher will create an inclusive learning environment that promotes inquiry-based learning and enhances students global awareness. Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement engaging lessons that align with the IB MYP curriculum framework.
Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages diverse perspectives and critical thinking.
Assess and evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments.
Encourage students to conduct research, engage in discussions, and present their findings effectively.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate the I & S curriculum with other subjects.
Support students in developing skills such as organization, time management, and self-regulation.
Utilize various teaching methods and technologies to enhance learning experiences.
Prepare students for their personal project, guiding them in the exploration of real-world issues.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance and assessment data.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and learning goals.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with IB updates.
Contribute to the school community by participating in extracurricular activities and events.
Foster a positive and respectful classroom culture.
Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and styles.
Implement school policies and manage classroom behavior effectively.
