Sr Engineer - India Transmission & Access Engineering

Responsible for Access feasibility, planning, NW expansion initiative. Pre-sales support on strategic & working level. Co-ordination with CFT functions to expedite the pre-sales activities within specified turnaround time to win the business. Need exceptionally target oriented approach in order to provide the access connectivity to all type of products within spiculated time frame to support sales force. Knowledge on access planning, network design, RF technology, SDH, DWDM, MPLS, GVPN, ILL, NDE, NPL etc is must. Understanding the customer requirement & providing best possible solution is most important for this role. The strategic planning and design of telecom infrastructure and/or network components. Analyse the short-term and/or long-term solution for customer with best possible outflow. Performs integration with existing systems and conduct service validation prior to hand over to Service Operations team. Adapt new technologies, system required for position & suggest the improvement wherever possible. The function engages with LOBs and Products Team to understand market forecast/ trends, and with relevant teams and vendors to discuss solutions and cost estimates and CAPEX optimization initiatives. Also responsible for equipment planning via RFP while working along with commercial team.

Broad outline of the Role

May be an individual contributor or may lead a team through application of deep knowledge of one job area or broad knowledge of several job areas within pre-sales. Responsible for setting objectives and delivering results that have a significant impact within the context of a wider operational area. Capable of instructing professional or technical staff and reviewing the quality of the work undertaken by these roles. Capable of identifying key issues and priorities and focusing on these to deliver required results with minimal direction and supervision. Demonstrates a level of flexibility in resolving problems/issues that at least to in-depth command of all techniques, processes, tools and standards, within the relevant field of specialization. Able to identify problems and significantly improve, change or adapt existing methods and techniques.

Education : BE/ BTECH / Diploma/ BCA/ BSC.IT. / Graduation in any field with 5-6 years of experience in Telecom field.

Experience : 5-6 years in Telecom domain in Pre-sales, Delivery, Assurance.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for Access Feasibility management & pre-sales activities.

Work with relevant CFTs to increase feasibility success ratio & enable sales to win the deal.

Set up & drive internal improvement processes.

Set up review calls with sales for future business prospects specially for large deals.

Identify the key areas that needs focus for overall system improvement & better output within the function.

Technical Competencies

The candidate should be well versed with Access management and technologies.

The candidate should have good knowledge about wireline technology, RF technology used in access management.

The candidate should have prior experience about products like ILL, GVPN, NDE, NPL etc & their technical aspects.

The candidate with knowledge on systems like SFDC, M6, TCx, SI, CQ, W1 will be an added advantage.

Strong analytical mind with ability to understand the sales opportunities at pre-sales stage.

Strong interpersonal skills and keenness to work with all key functions.
