Sr. Research Executive/ Research Executive - Technology

Highly Dispersible Silica (HDS) is prepared by Tata chemicals for applications in Rubber Industry. The tyre formulations varying as per the requirement and hence the specifications of HDS also varies. This role would focus on understanding and further improvising the HDS preparation technology. Through variation in the process chemistry, various grades of HDS will be synthesized. Need to develop the process parameters affecting the properties of Silica.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT
Detailed understanding of preparation of nanomaterials especially Silica. Prepare detailed reports by studying the process parameters & understanding the process variations and make presentations.
Understanding the gas phase reactions using CO2 with Silicates. Perform the reactions at semi pilot scale and study the mass balance ratios. Prepare detailed reports
Knowledge on different characterization techniques used for Silica.
Detailed characterization & study characteristics such as surface area, external surface area, purity or content of silica
Understand the effluent streams generated in the process and the recovery process adopted

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
The individual in this role will design & develop new product / innovations in the research area of materials science especially in synthesis of Silica.
Must have experience in working at pilot scale reactions and product development by conceiving new ideas, conducting research with detailed analysis, where technical and scientific answers are needed to support new product development.
He / she must facilitate fundamental understanding of the structural components and physicochemical properties of the developed materials and its varied applications.
The individual in this position is to demonstrate the understanding of the basic principles of material science & it s formulation to be used in applications like rubber composites.
Independently demonstrate ability to deliver projects within agreed time and budget
In a project leadership capacity, the candidate is expected to plan, develop, coordinate, and execute a number of significant projects.
Focus constantly on new innovation opportunities in the chosen field of research and find the quick solution to the business requirement.
Basic understanding of statistical data, Arriving on the variance, deviation in process & process capability

PREFERRED SKILLS :
Conducting experiments, requiring understanding of basic science and engineering principles
Interpret experimental results, develop Internal systems and procedures and ensure proper documentation of all the scientific and technical work
Capability to summarize experimental findings and conclude on different sets of a larger experiments
At a higher-level planning experiment based on the results of iterations of experiments done
Greater familiarity of related work areas and capacity to suggest business process improvements.
Ability and/ or experience in the preparation of non- routine and more complex experimental set up
Broader knowledge of materials characterization equipment and their operations
Knowledge on Process capability, statistical data analysis

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Education: M. Tech with atleast two years of experience of relevant industrial experience
Subject Specialty: Materials Science, Chemical engineering, Chemistry & Physics
Essential Attributes: Experience in process engineer worked on various chemical reactions
Experience with new product development for industrial products - preferably in the field of materials science & specialty chemical industry
Practical experience with innovation & project management
Strong product development abilities
Great attitude & forward looking individual
