Job Description: Accountant - Scanomat India

Location: Banjara Hills
Reports To: Managing Director
Department: Finance & Accounts
Employment Type: Full-Time


Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Accountant to handle day-to-day financial operations for Scanomat India. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and compliance, with a keen eye for detail and an ability to streamline processes. This individual will play a pivotal role in managing GST filings, overseeing TDS compliance, managing payments, and ensuring the smooth operation of coffee and consumables orders.


Key Responsibilities:


1. GST Compliance & Filing

    • Prepare, review, and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, etc.) on time.
    • Monitor and ensure GST compliance across all transactions.
    • Coordinate with vendors and customers to resolve any GST-related discrepancies.
    • Maintain accurate records of GST transactions and liaise with tax authorities as required.

2. TDS Compliance

    • Calculate, deduct, and deposit TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) in accordance with relevant provisions.
    • Ensure timely filing of TDS returns and issue TDS certificates to vendors and employees.
    • Reconcile TDS statements and address any discrepancies.

3. Accounts Payable & Receivable

    • Oversee payment processing to vendors, ensuring timely payments.
    • Manage the receivables and collections from clients.
    • Ensure accurate invoicing and follow up with customers for outstanding payments.

4. Streamlining Coffee & Consumables Orders

    • Manage inventory and ordering processes for coffee machines, spare parts, and consumables.
    • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.
    • Maintain proper documentation of orders and payment processing.
    • Implement processes to optimize and streamline order cycles, ensuring no disruption in supply.

5. General Accounting Tasks

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
    • Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements on a monthly basis.
    • Assist in monthly and annual closing procedures.
    • Ensure proper filing of all financial documents for easy retrieval and audit purposes.

6. Cost Management & Financial Reporting

    • Monitor costs associated with coffee machine operations, consumables, and other expenses.
    • Prepare periodic financial reports for management review, highlighting any anomalies or concerns.
    • Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts for departmental expenses and sales.

7. Other Financial Operations

    • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to financial transactions, accounting, and taxation.
    • Liaise with external auditors and assist with annual audits.
    • Assist in financial planning, analysis, and advising for management decision-making.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Educational Requirements:
    • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • Professional certification (CA, CMA, or equivalent) is preferred.

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on GST, TDS, and general accounting.
    • Previous experience working in a manufacturing, FMCG, or product-based industry is a plus.

  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or similar).
    • Strong knowledge of Indian tax regulations, including GST and TDS.
    • Familiarity with inventory management and order processing systems.
    • Excellent MS Excel skills for reporting and analysis.

  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information:

  • Working Hours: Monday to Saturday (10.30 AM - 6.30 PM)
