We are looking for a passionate Embedded IoT Application Developer to develop and optimize embedded firmware for our smart locker systems. You will play a critical role in designing efficient, secure, and connected solutions that power our next-generation smart lockers.

Key Responsibilities

Firmware & Embedded Systems Development

• Develop and optimize firmware for smart locker controllers using C/C++ on microcontrollers like ESP32, STM32, or Nordic nRF52.
• Implement real-time operating systems (RTOS) like FreeRTOS or Zephyr for reliable and efficient system performance.
• Develop and integrate secure access control mechanisms (RFID, NFC, PIN-based authentication, biometric sensors).
• Design and implement low-power and energy-efficient firmware solutions to support battery-powered or backup power operations.

IoT Connectivity & Communication

• Develop and maintain wireless communication protocols such as Wi-Fi, BLE, LoRa, NB-IoT, LTE-M for seamless cloud connectivity.
• Implement MQTT, HTTPS, and WebSockets for real-time device communication with the backend.
• Optimize over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates to ensure secure and seamless upgrades.

Security & Data Integrity

• Implement secure boot, encryption (TLS/SSL), and secure key storage to protect user data.
• Develop and integrate tamper-detection mechanisms to prevent unauthorized access to lockers.
• Ensure compliance with IoT security best practices (ISO 27001, OWASP IoT Top 10).

Hardware & Systems Integration

• Work with PCB designers and hardware engineers to optimize firmware-hardware interaction.
• Integrate and test sensors, actuators, motors, and lock mechanisms for smooth locker operation.
• Debug hardware-related firmware issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG/SWD debuggers.

Cloud & Backend Collaboration

• Work closely with cloud and mobile developers to integrate embedded systems with clients backend and mobile app.
• Optimize data logging, remote monitoring, and predictive maintenance capabilities.

Testing & Documentation

• Develop unit tests and automated testing for firmware validation.
• Maintain technical documentation, API references, and firmware update logs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Masters degree in Embedded Systems, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in embedded IoT firmware development.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++, Python, or Rust for embedded programming.
• Experience with RTOS-based development and bare-metal programming.
• Knowledge of wireless communication protocols (Wi-Fi, BLE, Zigbee, LoRa, NB-IoT).
• Experience with IoT cloud platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT, ThingsBoard).
• Hands-on experience with secure firmware development (encryption, secure boot, OTA updates).
• Proficiency with embedded debugging tools (JTAG, SWD, UART, I2C, SPI analyzers).
• Familiarity with Git-based version control and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an agile development environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with smart locker systems, access control devices, or industrial automation.
• Knowledge of edge AI/ML for predictive maintenance in IoT.
• Familiarity with industrial IoT protocols (Modbus, OPC UA, CAN).
• Experience with mobile app integration (Bluetooth-based authentication, push notifications).
