As the Principal Data Architecture, you will :
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient data architectures that support the business's analytics and data-driven decision-making needs.
- Develop strategies for integrating data from multiple sources, including cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Snowflake), databases, and third-party systems.
- Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and other technical teams to ensure the data architecture aligns with business requirements and is optimized for performance and cost-efficiency.
- Define and enforce data modelling and architectural best practices, ensuring consistency and scalability.
- Oversee the design and implementation of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks within the data architecture.
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend new tools or practices that can improve the organization's data infrastructure.
- Provide leadership and technical guidance in data design and architecture, helping to shape the direction of data initiatives across the organization.
- Monitor the performance of data systems and provide recommendations for improvements or optimization.
THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART.
Must-Have Experience :
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Architect or in a similar role, designing complex data solutions.
- Strong expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and data architecture best practices.
- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g, Snowflake, AWS, Azure) and familiarity with data warehousing and data lakes.
- Proven ability to design and implement secure and scalable data pipelines, integrations, and storage solutions.
- Experience working with data governance, security, and compliance requirements (e.g, GDPR, CCPA).
Technical Skills :
- Deep understanding of relational and non-relational databases (SQL, NoSQL), data lakes, and data warehouses.
- Expertise in data integration technologies, data pipelines, and tools (e.g, Apache Kafka, Spark, Talend, Informatica).
- Proficiency in data modeling techniques (both logical and physical) and best practices.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices for data infrastructure, including CI/CD for data pipelines.
- Understanding of data governance tools (e.g, Atlan, Collibra, Alation) and how to embed these into the architecture.
Soft Skills :
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically about the long-term architecture and operational needs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Leadership skills to mentor and guide team members in implementing architecture best practices.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver complex projects on time.
Education :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Advanced certifications in cloud platforms, data architecture, or related fields (e.g, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Snowflake Architect Certification) are a plus.
Nice to Have :
- Experience in the retail or fashion industry, with insight into its data challenges.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies such as AI/ML, real-time data processing, or edge computing.
- Previous experience in a senior data engineering or data science role, with an understanding of both the architecture and data use cases.
