Senior Java Developer - Backend Technologies (4-7 yrs)

Position Description :

As a member of Engineering Product Development Group, you will be part of a team implementing innovative and cutting-edge solutions designed to meet the needs of a rapidly changing market.

Responsibilities :

- Work with Product Owner to ensure full understanding of the story requirements, within the context of the existing systems.

- Produce and document technical designs and implement requirements according to designs.

- Implement and ensure that the deliverables meet all the specified acceptance criteria.

- Escalate technical design or specification issues to Scrum Master, Product Owner and other Agile team members as soon as they arise.

- Adhere to the kACE coding standards and Scrum process.

- Actively participate in all Scrum ceremonies.

- Set and own your development goals, providing regular status updates to the scrum master.

- Participate in testing as needed to deliver team's commitment by sprint end.

- Achieve in-depth expertise of one or more components of the kACE system and provide advice and assistance to other developers in those areas.

- Participate in periodic release activities.

Requirements :

- BS in computer science, math, or related field.

- Fluent in spoken and written English

- Daily work shift that provides at least 5 hours overlap with business hours.

- Must be energetic, self-motivated and possess excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

- Must be able to work within an established team and be willing to take direction.

Experience Required :

- 7+ years of experience developing business critical enterprise-level solutions for Senior role

- Strong expertise in Java required. Other languages such as C++, Python are a plus.

- Knowledge of trading systems, foreign exchange or derivatives is a major plus.

- Domain knowledge in multiple areas of software technologies, e.g., multi-threading, distributed processing, messaging, etc.
