Direct Tax Executive

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Semi-Qualified Direct Tax Professional to join our growing tax team. In this role, you will assist with tax compliance, advisory, and research activities, focusing on direct tax laws and regulations. You will support clients in managing their tax obligations and optimizing their tax positions, while ensuring full compliance with applicable tax laws.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tax Compliance:
   
• Assist in the preparation and filing of direct tax returns (individual, corporate, and other entities) within prescribed timelines.
• Prepare tax computations, including reconciliation of book profit with taxable income.
• Ensure compliance with tax withholding and reporting requirements (e.g., TDS, GST-related tax aspects, etc.).
• Maintain accurate documentation of tax filings, returns, and supporting documents.
2. Tax Advisory and Planning:
   
• Assist in advising clients on tax planning opportunities, identifying tax-saving strategies, and managing tax liabilities.
• Support in preparing tax advisory reports and recommendations for clients on various direct tax matters, including income tax, capital gains tax, and other relevant taxes.
• Analyze tax implications of business transactions, restructurings, and investments.
3. Tax Audit Support:
   
• Assist in tax audits and assessments, ensuring that all necessary documents and information are provided to tax authorities.
• Support clients in responding to tax notices, and facilitate the preparation of necessary documents and representation during tax proceedings.
4. Research & Updates:
   
• Stay updated on the latest developments in direct tax laws, regulations, and case laws.
• Assist in researching complex tax issues, interpreting tax provisions, and drafting client-specific tax opinions.
• Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing sessions on tax updates and legislative changes.
5. Client Interaction:
   
• Maintain and develop relationships with clients, assisting them in addressing queries related to direct tax matters.
• Communicate tax-related issues to clients in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
6. Internal Process & Documentation:
   
• Ensure that all direct tax-related work is completed in accordance with company policies and tax regulations.
• Support the team in managing tax deadlines and ensuring efficient processing of client tax returns and documents.
