Job Description :
Function : IT Operations and Support - Systems Administration
Major skills - Active Directory, Linux, Virtualization, Windows, CentOS, Ubuntu, VMware, ESX
The Systems team is responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the technology infrastructure.
This includes but is not limited to, storage, networking, workstations, and rendering.
It also includes the various software elements around both the core operating system(s) and the various application layer components that are deployed upon that framework.
Responsibilities :
The Systems Administrator will be part of the Level 2 team.
They respond to Technical incidents and requests supporting all Framestore divisions.
They are to set an example for the Support Assistants and be their point of escalation if necessary.
A Mid/ Senior Systems Administrator performs daily duties of maintenance on applications, OS, hardware, monitoring resources, and troubleshooting.
They need to be able to communicate well with the end users and deal with varied issues daily.
These can include OS (Windows and Linux), hardware, application deployments, networking, storage, studio setups, remote working, etc.
They will also provide necessary documentation and mentoring to other members of the team.
Requirements :
- Hands experience in Linux Systems Administration (Server and Workstations).
- Monitoring of IT Infrastructure (Nagios, Zabbix, Manage engine, etc).
- Applications Support (Installation, Configuration, Management and Troubleshooting).
- Ticketing tool (JIRA, Siebel, OTRS, RT etc. one ).
- CMDB tools ( Puppet, Chef, Ansible, git etc ).
- Strong self-guided problem-solving skills.
- A Commitment to teamwork.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Good to have the following skills also :
- Understanding of VFX environment and issues.
- Networking (Basic Troubleshooting, IP Addressing, Subnetting etc).
- Storage configuration and management (monitoring, allocating, and troubleshooting).
- Windows OS for workstation and Server Administration 2012/2016
- Applications deployments, WDMS, WPKG.
- Server management (DNS, DHCP).
- Active Directory, Group Policies, User and Permissions management.
- Scripting language (Powershell, Ruby).
- Cloud Computing (Basics of AWS, GCP ).
Desirable Skills :
- Automation deployment tools for Linux and Windows OS.
- Technical Troubleshooting and Solution-oriented approach.
- VMWare and/or virtual server environment administration
