Position Overview:

Singapore SynchroSkills is seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Fashion Design Faculty member to teach our university-affiliated 11-month Certificate Course in Fashion Design. The ideal candidate will bring industry experience and academic expertise to guide students through a comprehensive fashion design curriculum within a condensed, intensive learning framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging lectures and practical sessions aligned with the university-affiliated certificate program curriculum
• Teach fundamental and advanced fashion design concepts and techniques within the 11-month course timeframe
• Provide hands-on instruction in areas including:

○ Fashion illustration and technical drawing

○ Pattern making and garment construction

○ Textile knowledge and selection

○ Fashion design principles and trends

○ Computer-aided design for fashion (AutoCAD)

• Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to foster growth
• Guide students through the development of their fashion portfolios
• Participate in end-of-course student fashion showcases and exhibitions
• Stay current with fashion industry trends and incorporate relevant updates into teaching
• Collaborate with other faculty to ensure curriculum cohesion and student success
• Provide academic advising and career guidance to certificate students

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field required; Master's degree preferred
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the fashion industry
• Previous teaching experience in fashion design education
• Strong portfolio demonstrating technical skills and design sensibility
• Proficiency with industry-standard fashion design software
• Knowledge of Asian and international fashion markets
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
• Ability to teach intensive courses with clear learning outcomes in a compressed time frame
• Understanding of university academic standards and accreditation requirements
