Assistant Engineer - NPD

Role & responsibilities

• Product Feasibility Study With CFT
• Make the APQP timing plan for the new product development.
• To Develop the New Product as Per the Customer Requirements
• Prepare Bill of Material for New Products
• Prepare All Child Parts Drawing for New Products
• Prepare Assembly Drawing for New Products
• Prepare drawings as per the requirement.
• Prepare New Equipment, Gauges & Tooling Requirement list for New Products
• New Child Parts Development with Suppliers with the help of Purchase
• Prepare APQP & PPAP Documents for New Products with the help of Quality dept.
• Prepare Inward Quality Plan & Final Inspection Quality Plan for New Products
• Prepare Important Parameter list for New Products
• Responsible for New Product Development from Sampling Stage to Mass Production
• Creating Awareness among Quality Inspectors, Production Supervisors about new Product Requirements
• Make samples as per the drawing.
• Make sample as per the cable availability from market (NON-OE)
• Make and check cables by fitting in the vehicle and prepare drawings once it is OK.
• Product life cycle management (PLM) and ERP activities
• Coordinate with other departments and other units as far as development is concerned.
• Bench Mark Study.
• VAVE with respect to competitors/OE
• Development of all latest models with in 1 month of OE development
• Standardization of product/process/part at unit level
• Cost Saving through implementation of value engineering
• Complete Engineering Change Process Control from ECRN to ECN with PPAP
• Supplier Follow up During Development Stages
• Interaction with Customer to Understand the Specific Requirements to be incorporated in the product design
• Provide Weekly Reports and Project Status Reports to Manager
• Item Code Creation for the New Product Development through ERP
• BOM creation/Modification with the help of ERP
• Customer Visit for the New Product Development
• Maintaining issue register for Assembly Drawings, Part Drawings, Inward Quality Plan, Final Inspection Quality Plan, Important Parameter, ECRN, ECN, PFC & Control Plan
• Document Issues Before SOP for all the New Products & Engineering Change
• Fixture, Gauges & Tooling Design & Development
• Benchmark study for the competitor cables
• Upload PPAP Documents in PLM including latest Customer approved Drawings.
• Upload Latest approved Drawings in PLM
• Any other task / assignment as directed by reporting officer

Required Competencies:

• Qualification: B.E/DME [Mechanical]
• Experience: 2 to 3 years Experience in Design and Development.
• Well-versed in Auto cad and Solid works
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good in computer skills i.e., MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Positive attitude: willingness to learn and flexibility.
• Previous Work Experience in Design & Development is Required.
• Knowledge on Die-casting, Sheet metal, Forging, Machining, Assembly.
• Tooling Experience is Required.
